Microphone, dictaphone and eavesdropping device jammer "BugHunter DAudio BDA-5" is designed to protect conversation areas from any means of recording acoustic information. The device has 100 transducers and suppresses eavesdropping devices with a unique ultrasonic interference with several frequencies simultaneously. Besides, BDA-5 generates acoustic speech-like interference through external speakers.
"BugHunter DAudio BDA-5" suppresses voice recording by:
- radio microphones
- wired microphones
- professional digital voice recorders
- smartphone voice recorders (including highly protected IP65-68)
- microphones of photo and video cameras
- hidden eavesdropping devices mounted in the walls
- laser microphones
The device has two remote controls to command operation of the device at a distance of up to 30 m (98 ft). BDA-5 is a stationary device powered only by 110/220V mains which ensures the maximum power of jamming interference.

- 100 powerful ultrasonic transducers. The transducers provide the most efficient microphone suppression at a distance of up to 4 m (13 ft). Some eavesdropping devices can be suppressed at a distance of up to 10 m (33 ft). The angle of interference signal reaches 180°.
- 2 types of ultrasonic interference with several frequencies simultaneously + speech-like interference (white noise mode). "BugHunter DAudio BDA-5" features a brand new ultrasonic generation system. The emission changes dynamically within 1 second, while several frequencies from 20 to 40 kHz are used simultaneously. This feature helps to suppress recording by the majority of spy devices. External acoustic speakers for speech-like interference emission can be used to protect the area from laser microphones. Utilizing both ultrasonic and speech-like interferences provides the most efficient protection from eavesdropping.

* Ultrasound pressure level may exceed safe levels at 1 m distance and less from an operating device and cause a health threat. Avoid being in close proximity to an operating device for a long period.
Operating principle
1) Mount the device on a wall, ceiling or any other flat surface and plug it in to 110V/220V mains. Connect external speakers if needed.
2) Turn on the device by pushing the power button on the remote control.
3) Select the suppression mode. Choose the appropriate settings (ultrasonic mode and interference power) for conducting a conversation in the protected area. Please mind that high level of interference power provides the most effective suppression of eavesdropping devices, but it doesn’t allow you to use the device secretly.
MODE button is used to select one of two modes of ultrasonic interference. UP and DOWN buttons are used to adjust the power of interference. LED indicators on the device’s housing display the selected adjustments for a short time.
Mounting the device
- Mounting on a ceiling. The mounting kit includes ceiling mounting
- Mounting on a wall. You can use the supplied wall mounting or any VESA wall brackets
- Mounting on a flat surface. If you need to change the device’s location, just put it on a table, drawer, etc.
Volume adjustment
To increase the effectiveness of the device and completely protect your conversations from eavesdropping, it is necessary to use several jammers located in different places: above the table and on the walls. It provides multiple reflection of ultrasonic waves, thus the pressure on the microphones will be enhanced. It is recommended to use speech-like interference via acoustic speakers for extra protection. Using speech-like interference you will hear white noise which allows you to suppress the recording by hidden eavesdropping devices mounted in the walls, furniture, ceiling or even outside the windows.
It is important to know, that the size of a room affects the effectiveness of the device. Don’t forget that ultrasonic emission at maximum strength can’t reach a distance over 10 m (33 ft). To avoid eavesdropping in open areas or large premises (with a ceiling higher than 3 m (10 ft) and length over 10 m (33 ft)) more than one device should be used. For best effectiveness install them close to the conversation area. People need to stay inside the protected area behind the devices, so the speech could be mixed with interference noises.
